Davao City, Philippines

OUR TRAVEL
August 2016

I have been to Davao City several times before for work and never really had the chance to explore the attractions in the city.  So, this time, we decided to visit Davao mainly to enjoy the sites and attractions the city has to offer.  We wanted a relaxed and hassle-free escapade this time so we got a guided tour to provide us a a whole-day venture on the sites to visit in Davao City.

Japanese Tunnel

Our first stop for the day is the Japanese Tunnel.  It's actually a resort and restaurant wherein the main attraction is a tunnel excavated by Filipinos, supervised by Japanese soldiers during word war II.  Today, it is one of the major attractions in Davao City and probably included in most city tours.  Entrance to the tunnel is P50 per person accompanied by a guide.

Eden Nature Park And Resort

Our next stop is probably the most visited park in Davao City.  Eden Nature Park and Resort is a nature sanctuary known for it's botanical gardens, fishing spots and adventure activities.  The resort caters accommodations within their nature sanctuary.  They also offer guided tours along the whole sanctuary which is the main highlight of this tour.  Apart from the nature sanctuary tour, you can avail of the other recreational activities like, horse-back riding,  sky rider, and sky cycle.   Buffet Lunch is also available at the Vista Restaurant.

Philippine Eagle Center

The Philippine Eagle Center is a conservation sanctuary for the endangered Philippine Eagle, also known as the Monkey-Eating Eagle.  It also a breeding facility for the Philippine Eagles where in they schedule release of these majestic birds in the wild.  Aside from the main highlight, the Philippine Eagle, the facility is also home to other animals, like several species of raptors, small mammals, and crocodiles.

Crocodile Park

The Davao Crocodile Park is a mini zoo wherein its main attraction are the crocodiles.  The park is also an establishment that farms crocodiles.  Here, they sell crocodile meat and items made out of crocodile leather.  At times they also prepare crocodile lechon and sell it by the kilo.  Aside from the crocodiles, the park also hosts wildlife shows and is home to some unique animals as part of the mini zoo.

Jack's Ridge

Our last stop for our whole day tour is on Jack's Ridge.  It is a viewing deck wherein you can have a panoramic view of Davao City.  It is also home to Taklobo Restaurant, which one of the famous restaurants in Davao City.  He had our early dinner here in Taklobo Restaurant while enjoying the view of the city.
