Samal Island, Philippines

OUR TRAVEL
August 2016

As part of Davao Trip, we made sure that Samal Island was part of our itinerary.  Also called as the Island Garden City of Samal, it is an island 10-minute ferry ride away from Davao City pier.  The island is well known for it's pristine white beaches and laid back island life.  Our 3-day stay here is a combination of relaxation and exploring some of the top attractions of the island.

Paradise Island Resort

One of the nearest resort from the city pier of Davao and a gateway to Samal Island. More of a touristy beach resort due to it's proximity to the city. Still, it is a favorite hangout for tourists because of the clean beach and the many activities and tours the resort offers.

Monfort Bat Sanctuary

One of the major attractions in Samal Island and certified by the Guinness World Records for holding the largest colony of Geoffrey's Rousette Fruit Bats.  It is recommended that visits to this bat sanctuary be done either by dusk or dawn where in it is in these times the bats take flight.

Hagimit Falls

Make sure not to miss this attraction when in Samal Island.  Take a dip at the cool turquoise waters on a series of falls, perfect to keep you refreshed specially on hot summer day.

Pearl Farm Resort

One of the gems of Samal Island and probably one of the top resorts in the Philippines.  The stunning views, overwater villas, and first class service will surely make your stay at this resort memorable.  Just a 3-minute boat ride from the resort is the Malipano Island.  Also privately own by the resort, the island is free for all resort guests to explore.
